John G. George, Jr. is a Texas real estate attorney, REALTOR®, instructor, speaker, and expert witness with over two decades of legal experience and deep roots in the Texas real estate industry.

John advises real estate brokers, agents, buyers, sellers, lenders, title companies, and other industry professionals on real estate contracts, brokerage issues, transactions, risk management, and related legal and business matters. His approach combines legal precision with practical guidance grounded in how real estate transactions actually work.

John currently serves as Co-Chair of the Texas Real Estate Commission Broker-Lawyer Committee. He was twice appointed to the Committee by the President of the State Bar of Texas, serving consecutive six-year terms from 2017–2023 and 2023–2029, and was elected Co-Chair by his fellow committee members in 2022. He also serves as a subject matter expert for TREC’s mandatory Broker Responsibility and Legal Update continuing education courses and is one of only two instructors selected by TREC to train the instructors who teach those courses.

A frequent speaker and educator, John regularly presents at industry conferences, brokerage events, and continuing education programs throughout Texas. He is also the founder of Special Provisions, LLC, a Texas real estate education company dedicated to elevating the profession through in-depth analysis of real estate contracts and legal issues, practical risk-management resources for brokers and agents, and continuing education programs.

John began his legal career handling complex jury and bench trials in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts across the country, representing clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 50 companies. Over time, his passion for real estate led him to focus his practice on the legal, transactional, and business issues faced by real estate professionals and their clients.

In 2019, John co-founded Hometown Title, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel until divesting his interest in the company in 2023. He is also a licensed Texas real estate sales agent and REALTOR® with V. Rose Realty, where he works alongside his wife and Broker Erika George (713-205-4952 | erika@vroserealty.com) serving buyers and sellers in residential real estate transactions.
